ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

• Producers from Europe*, Latin America, Canada, USA are eligible to apply  
• Projects can be narrative features, creative documentaries, short animated projects in development/financing stage with 10% of the total production budget already in place
• Projects must have international co-production potential
• Projects should preferably be the director’s first or second feature

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

• The Eurimages Co-production Development Award (CPDA) takes the form of a non-reimbursable subsidy of €20.000 for feature-length fiction and documentary films, which must be used exclusively to cover the development expenses of the co-production project.

• The CPDA shall be awarded to a film project:
  – at an early stage of development,
  – intended for international co-production,
  – of a minimum duration of 70 minutes,
  – intended for cinema release.

• The project must be developed by:
  – one or more independent production companies** from a Eurimages member State, an independent production company having creative control of the project and with the majority participation in the development financing.

• Independent production companies must be majority owned and continue to be majority owned, either directly or indirectly, by nationals of the Eurimages member States. Legal entities which are not able to show the composition of their shareholding are not eligible.

• The applicant must have the intention of involving:
  – at least one other independent production company from a different Eurimages member State in the co-production.
  
  – One or more companies from one or more non-member States may also join the project up to a maximum total participation of 30% in development financing. Any project previously submitted to the Eurimages Co-production support programme will automatically be excluded.

• A project which has previously been submitted to the Eurimages Co-production Support Programme will be automatically excluded.

SUBMISSION MATERIALS

>> narrative features & creative documentaries applications must include: 

• online application form 
• treatment in English (max 5-8 pages)
• financing development plan 
• financing production plan 
• teaser/visuals/mood board of the submitted project (teaser is mandatory for documentaries)
• previous work(s) of the director

>> short animation applications must include: 

• online application form 
• treatment in English (max 5-8 pages) or script
• financing production plan
• teaser/animation test/visuals/art design/moodboard of the submitted project

SUBMISSION FEES

Early bird fee: € 0 (no fee) – from 25 August until 30 September, 23:59 CET
Last minute fee: € 30 – from 1 until 10 October, 23:59 CET***

With the recent steady growth of submissions, this contribution allows us to maintain the usual standards and timing of our reviewing and selection process.

AWARDS
Selected projects will compete for the two main cash prizes: the Eurimages Co-production Development Award, cash prize of the value of 20.000€, and the CICLIC WEMW Award (granted by the French Centre-Val de Loire Region), cash prize of the value of 5.000€.
Thanks to the WEMW network of partners, the Co-Production Forum will also feature a series of other major awards including the EAVE Producers Workshop Scholarship, the Pop Up Film Residency Award, the Marché du Film Producers Network Badges, the DAE Talent Development Prize, the EWA Network’s Award for Equality & Inclusion, the Taskovski Film Training Award, GoGo2025 Residency Award, and the CEE Animation Award.

** A production company is considered independent when less than 25% of its share capital is held by a single audiovisual media service provider or less than 50% where several audiovisual media service providers are involved. Independence and ownership are verified up to the third level above the applying company.
