ISO 20121

Thanks to the collaboration with Trentino Film Commission, the event management system is aligned with the principles of ISO 20121, fully embracing the values of environmental awareness, economic responsibility and social sustainability.

In 2017 Trentino Film Commission launched T-Green Film, becoming the first regional fund in Europe to both prize and certify production companies that work in a more sustainable way. In 2019 they introduced a new, implemented version – Green Film – both a rating system and certification designed for adoption by other institutions such as film funds, film commissions and broadcasters nationwide.

Validated by SNAP – Servizio Nazionale Protezione Ambiente, the certification requires applicants to incorporate a green approach in the following areas of interest: energy savings, transport and accommodation, catering, material selection and social sustainability.

Together with Green Film, WEMW improvement programme is also inspired by the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and involves the implementation of the following best practices:

PLASTIC FREE
The event does not provide plastic bottles.

FIGHT AGAINST FOOD WASTE
Menus and food quantities are tailored to our needs, and any surplus food will be swiftly donated to local charities.

DEMATERIALIZE
We commit to eliminate as many printed materials as possible. From this year, WEMW will also stop distributing lanyards.

ACCESSIBILITY
The event is barrier-free.
With our Baby Lounge we support the right to a healthy work-life balance.
With our menus we grant vegetarian and celiac options to always meet our guests needs.

CLIMATE STRATEGY
Participants can take part in our Green Lottery to actively help us offset our CO2 footprint (learn more here).

PROMOTION TERRITORY
By taking part in the Green Lottery, participants will also get the chance to win an eco-conscious getaway in Friuli Venezia Giulia in one of FRILAND’s establishments.
